By using the Aakri app or website, or by sending us information through our forms, you agree to the collection, use, sharing and retention of your information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

02Information we collect

We collect the information you give us when you create an account, book a pickup, contact support, apply for a job or fill in a form on our website. This may include:

• Your name, phone number and email address.
• Your pickup address and the location you share for a booking.
• Booking details: the items and quantities collected, weights, rates, payments and wallet transactions.
• Messages, feedback and reviews you send us.
• Job applications: your CV, experience and the details you enter on the Careers page.

You can choose not to give us some information, but then some features may not work and we may not be able to complete a pickup for you.

03How we use your information

• To schedule, complete and support your pickups.
• To verify your phone number and keep your account secure.
• To pay you for scrap and manage your Aakri wallet and loyalty benefits.
• To answer your questions and resolve complaints.
• To send you service updates and, if you agree, news about offers.
• To understand how our app and website are used, and improve them.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

04SMS OTP and account verification

We verify your phone number with a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS. On supported Android phones the app can read the verification code automatically through Google’s SMS Retriever API, without any extra permissions and without access to your other messages. You can always type the code in yourself.

05Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to run our service:

• With our pickup team and service partners, who see the name, phone number and address they need to complete your pickup.
• With trusted providers who help us run the service, such as hosting, SMS, payment and analytics providers, under confidentiality obligations.
• With government authorities or others when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers, team and company.

06Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to collect non-personal information about visits: which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay and how they move through the site. This helps us understand what is useful and improve it.

You can turn cookies off in your browser settings, but some parts of the website may then not work properly.

07Promotional messages

If you agree to it, we may occasionally tell you about offers and new services. You can opt out at any time by writing to us, and we will promptly remove you from our contact list.

08Data retention and security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, resolve disputes and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect it from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

09Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and the data linked to it. Write to us from your registered email address or call customer support, and we will respond as soon as we can. We may keep some records where the law requires us to.

As Aakri grows, adds new features or as legal requirements change, we may update this policy. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated. By continuing to use our services after a change, you accept the updated policy.
